Well, of course. They made subpar hardware. If, in terms of horsepower, the Wii was to the PS360 what the DS is to the PSP, then third parties could have made good games for Nintendo's home console.

the difference is the PSP does not sell software, the PS360 do.

As you can remember, The PSP got major support as well early on, but faded in the west while in Japan, it gets as tons of support from 3rd party.
