Apple requests creative input from major publishers and developers during it's design ( and actually listen/implement many of their ideas) to ensure the system is easy to develop for. They also offer publishers a low liscensing fee, higher profit margins and control over game pricing It cost 400-500USD for the basic model and is of course sold at a profit. If they did all of this, they might get the number 3 spot (globally) and number 2 in the US. |
