what are you on about? they both play DVDs! and they both upscale DVDs too! is this really the state of ignorance?

I'm thinking he's a disciple of AICN's Harry Knowles, who listed that as his main reason for choosing HDDVD over BluRay (in a column that was riddled with such follies).
