1 - can you count all Kinect sales - i.e. as a standalone and a bundle vs launch sales of Wii, etc. where there was no install base? I'm in the no camp as noted as that isn't a fair apples to apples comparison. 2 - is Kinect a platform in its own right? again some are arguing no with for the most part fair comments. I'd say not yet, and no more than Move is (or even Wii). Kinect extends 360 but isn't a platform in its own right and I doubt ever will be on 360. But yeah, the usual crowd (to be fair they have matching counterparts on PS3/Wii side) see anything other than unabashed glowing comments as saying Kinect isn't a success. |
Well I agree. Nobody denied that Kinect is a success (I already said that with my first post in here yesterday), but there are those two points which you already mentioned, that are discussed here. Kinect is a huge success but these points are absolutely justified. I wouldn't consider it a platform (for the reasons I listed in my first post) and comparing it to the Wii is not fair either.
As huaxiong90 already said, these are blind assumptions that there are people who don't admit that it is a success.
