Yeah, I remember playing the first Crysis, lauded as the next big thing in visuals (and that was its only value) only to find that it had shitty textures. Trees, foliage, buildings and certain items looked horrible compared to vehicles, character models, lighting, particle effects and other effects.
Some late patches and mods made it better but still miles away from the promo shots.
Crysis 2 will no doubt look a lot better than the first one since this is a whole Cryengine, too bad the game itself will probably suck big time.
