Many years of experience, and work, went into all these consoles. In all of the billions of years that the Universe has existed, and the billions of people that have enhabited the Earth, only about 40 video game consoles have ever existed, so should they all not be respected? They should. At least respect the consoles, and judge the games. But, many have directed their hatred to consoles, through the bad games, or lack of good games, for it. This is why many are missing out on good games, because they look at the negative aspects of consoles, more than the postive. Many also judge consoles at first glance, without even playing them. How many people have judged the Playstation 3 before playing it? How many have looked at its negative aspects, more than its positives? How many have ignored the good games, because too many bad games exist on the console? Unfortunately, all consoles are hated by many for idiotic reasons, and they are not appreciated for their positive aspects.
Who do I blame the most? The fan boys. Got to love those fan boys... They are the ones that judge consoles before playing them, and assume that certain consoles have all the good games, and everything else sucks. Look at how many Wii fan boys there are, almost completely ignoring the other consoles. Not all the good games exist on the Wii. Many good games exist on the Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. Just because the other consoles are not selling as much, does not mean that they suck. |
Or maybe it's because the majority of consumers aren't about to waste $10000 trying to aquire every console so they can only play 1 or 2 'great' games on struggling console, since if 1 particular console comes out near the top, then most games will come out for that system. Are you right in saying that it is the games and not the console that makes it worth buying? Absolutely. Saying that without games, all console would be equal is true, they would all be equally pointless wastes of space. Now the real test to say if all console are equal would be to have the supposition that all consoles have the same game list. Would all consoles then be equal? No. they wouldn't, each console would offer different advantages and disadvantages, in terms of the processing power and the graphical capability, as well as the input method, not to mention the relative price and other features of a console as well. Some consoles would easily be seen to be deficient in critical areas that would be worth hatred and ire, or at the very least, apathetic dismissal. |
