Kinect is a motion control system. Thus, it is comparable to Move, and Wii fit. It really should not be compared to console launches.
But I think it is interesting to see how it stacks up tot he launches of our current gen systems. Considering its rather high price tag for an add-on, it really is quite amazing how well it is doing.
