It speaks volumes that the vast majority of people really trying to wrestle this thread to the floor are Wii owners.
why is that? whats the problem?
And trying to compare the wm add on or wii balance board to what kinect is about doesnt wash for me.

You really want somebody to answer these questions with something like "Well the problem with Nintendo fans is that..." ?
Yes Kinect is a huge success. Nobody's denying that. But it's standing on Nintendo's shoulders. MS waited for Nintendo to carve out this market, and then they dumped in somebody else's tech (after both Nintendo and Sony turned it down) and a ton of marketing money. It wasn't even risky. It made perfect sense. So as a Nintendo fan, it's like "hurray for competition!" but at the same time, "come on guys, can we put some effort into the software? It's 2010. You're not competing with Rayman Raving Rabbids, Super Monkey Ball, and Excite Truck anymore. You're competing with Wii Fit and Wii Sports Resort."
Why do you think Wii Fit and Wii Sports Resort aren't comparable to Kinect? They both use system-exclusive peripherals launched years after their initial console launch, neither of them launched anywhere near Black Friday and Christmas, and are the 11th and 12th best-selling games of all time. Both peripherals have had other games launched later on. The only difference is that Nintendo advertised the software instead of the hardware, instead of calling them "new platform launches."

some contradictions there... some inaccuracies... some spin and some odd choice of words.
And you fell into the same trap as everyone else..
"yeah its great sales... BUT"
Any "buts" are utterly irrelevant in this discussion... Its only about sales.

Some condescension... some refusal to engage in actual debate of points made in quoted post... some refusal to clarify point specifically asked about...
And yet I am brushed off as I have lost an argument.
Well, good luck with this thread I guess.
