Nintendo does advertise 3rd party titles as well...just not as much.  Largely because 3rd parties don't put up their big titles on Wii.  When they do, Nintendo supposrts them.  See Capcom with Monster Hunter 3.   Or Square Enix with Dragon Quest IX (DS title but point remains).

I doubt it.  These games could have been bigger, but they could not compare to a major AAA release on an HD console.  If an HD version was released for PS3 or 360 I doubt they could have performed much better than they did on the Wii.
