According to the latest sales figures by Microsoft the Kinect has now become the fastest adopted consumer electronics device ever, ousting the recent heir to the throne, the iPad. The iPad took 2 months to sell 2 million iPads, at a minimum price of $500, and has now settled down to selling around 4.5 million every quarter. In comparison the Kinect has sold 2.5 million units in 25 days and is expected to sell 5 million before the end of the year in less than 2 months on sale. Whether the device will keep up it’s sales rate after Christmas is up for much debate but generally the feedback has been good and if the casual market becomes attached it very well could.
