From personal experience I find this part of your statement to be a load of garbage. That however is just my take.

"in tough times, one needs to solve the problems of others in order to make it."

As opposed to what, you curl yourself up in the ball and burrow yourself underground and don't do anything to help others?  The gist of the article is this: In tough times, there are a lot of problems.  The individual who can work to solve more of these problems for others, will be far more likely to get the resources they need than the person who is going out and only looking for themselves, to get their own needs and wants met, and do nothing to help others.

Like I said. Based on personal experience I have had some very hard times in my life and I have helped others much more than I get help back. It doesn't go both ways all the time. So like I said I think that article is a load of crap.

I'm not saying it is wrong to help others. I'm just saying I don't agree with the stated.
