Why are you implying it's a necessary feature? The fact that it can be turned off means 3D will only be optional for these, same as any movie or game.

No I don't belive it needs 3d but rockstar usally use the system full potential and with the system having 3d I wonder how it willl be used.

If they did that, Chinatown Wars would be more like Cop The Recruit. They just like to claim they do that for the prestige, since they seem to be stuck on that mentality. That seems to be more of an impediment to them making a game for the 3DS than any use of 3D.
