I'm actually hopefull it won't.

Vegas was another developer and they clearly struggled to add their code to the existing codebase - a common problem trying to build on someone else's code - and the developer's previous title was buggy too, so I think Vegas is a red herring that has to be judged alone

They now have ID Tech5 available plus Caramack, surely they'll leverage that for Oblivion 5?  If so, I wouldn't expect too many bugs.

no ID tech 5 it's built internally apparently

There was some debate over what engine the new Elder Scrolls game would be using, and all signs seemed to point to GameBryo. However, writing on Twitter earlier today, Bethesda Softworks community manager Nick Breckon said: “We can now confirm that the TES V: Skyrim engine is all-new. And it looks fantastic.” I asked him what “new” means in this case, and whether it was simply a new version of the Gamebryo engine that powered Oblivion and the recent Fallout games. He responded: “It’s a new graphics/gameplay engine built internally. We’ll have more details down the road.”

Interesting!

Yeah, just saw that like 5 minutes after posting!

New engine from ground up sounds good, although I'd still trust ID tech more than Bethesda softworlks tech - but hey, a new engine is better news than trying to squeeze more out of their GameBryo codebase which I felt with Fallout 3 was definately reaching its useful limits vs a true upgrade of tech.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
