Your probably thinking of some other game cause I believe it had a worldwide release date.

Yeah, the game I was thinking of was FFXIII, not Halo Reach. Your argument that FFXIII should outsell Halo Reach just doesnt work. Sure, FF is a bigger series in Japan than Halo, but FFXIII has already been released on the PS3, and for a long time it was believed to be PS3 exclusive. 

 

FFXIII may end up outselling Halo, but it's not as simple as you present it to be

But its freaking Final Fantasy!  I would seriously be very surprised if it didn't sell at least 40k.
