A bomb is known as a product that lost lots of money upon its release and never turned a profit. Example include the movie Final Fantasy Spirits Within and Shenmue.

Please understand I'm not having a pop its just that the term is incredibly ambiguous.

From your definition Bomb and Flop would seem largely interchangeable.

The only definition I can find is an explosive device designed to destroy objects in its blast radius.

Also I think the FBI are now opening a file on me for researching the term "BOMB"
