I'm a few hours in and while my review isn't as glowing as DavyGee's, this is a very good game. There are some aspects of the controls that bother me (God DAMN it, if you can't think of a good reason to use motion controls, don't use them at all) and while the game looks extremely good, I don't think it's anything ground-breaking. "Extremely polished" is the term I would use. There are occassional glitches but nothing worth getting riled up about.
Overall, the story is a lot of fun thus far and the characters are amusing though the voice acting leaves something to be desired. Some of the acting falls flat, which is a shame considering how good the writing is, particularly for a video game.
The game definitely evokes a lot of feelings from other games and genres... The cover system reminds you a bit of Gears or GRAW, the Action button has recent Zelda offerings written all over it, some of the platforming reminds me of Tomb Raider (the good ones), and the enemy AI definitely brings back memories of Lemmings. Naughty Dog did a very good job of taking other elements and polishing them up quite well. I wish there weren't quite so many shooting elements in the game but we'll see how I adjust as the game progresses.
I'll definitely have a full review of the game up later but so far, color me impressed. This game has in spades what so many others are missing; fun.
