I'd give it a 7.7. I don't have the patience to go through all of the original games, even though I love 4 and can't wait for 5, so this gives me a good general sense of what happened. It was fun playing through it with my friend who has played the other games (I've only played Zero) since he was able to fill in the details.
My only complaints: Nemesis is way, way, WAY too easy to kill. He dies even easier than he did in the second movie. I had a harder time on the giant worm than on Nemy, and this version of Nemesis did not deserve to be the final boss.
Also, it would have been nice if P2 could just press start and join in, as in most lightgun games.
