I'm also finding the gameplay frustrating. Ammo for your special weapons is rather limited, forcing you to use the handgun a lot to conserve. But there are a lot of places in the game where they expect you to use a more powerful weapon or get your ass handed to you, and there's no way of knowing when they're going to occur. When they do occur, if you take time to switch to a more powerful weapon, you get your ass handed to you anyway. Annoying. Like I said, I have a lot of rail shooter experience, and I like them, but I'm finding this one very frustrating.

That's funny. I don't have any problems with the special weapons at all. If you pick the right weapon to bring with you before the mission, take all the pickups, and use your grenades somewhat wisely, you're often left with a lot of special weapons ammo to spare. Also, the handgun gets a lot less frustrating once you master the critical hits on zombies - I can often score 3 or 4 criticals in a row now without much trouble, so I hardly ever use special weapons on zombies unless there are multiple zombies really close or the crowd is too big to handle.

What really annoys me are the vomiting/spitting zombies. They are often very far away and somehow I can never get a critical hit on them because they keep cocking their head back. Eventually you'll run out of ammo and have to reload, unless you waste your special weapons on them. I wouldn't shed a tear if Capcom had left those out of the game.

I drink your milkshake.
