I didn't start this thread for a discussion about how good FF13 is or what you do or don't like about it. I'm sure there are 99999 threads on that subject already.
I wanted to see what people think today of the insane hype surrounding the x360 version announcement at e3 2008, and how the original 'megaton' predictions among many gamers completely fizzled out. Now that it's late 2010 and the game has released in all major regions, I feel we should be able to explain why so many gamers were completely and unquestionably wrong in their reception of the event.
It caused a lot of meltdowns which is always amusing, sure. But incase some of you missed it, in the end, FF13 going multiplat was not a big deal at all. So what happened between then and the release of FF13? Why were so many so wrong?
