I'm not so sure I would say that as DQIX has sold over 4.3 million copies (in Japan) since it launched last year. MHP's best selling game (2g) is at just over 4 million (in Japan), though it's been out for a lot longer.

And it had two budget re-releases if I'm not mistaken.
