Well I'll explain since you can't seem to do the math yourself.

When was the last time MS published a PC game? 2007 I believe.

This in itself is a problem. How are PC gamers meant to take MS seriously if everything points towards them completely disregarding PC.?

Maybe I was giving an example that MS didn't give a shit about PC gaming? They started showing intrest in PC gaming again recently. They've announced three games that should be coming next year. More could be in the works.

People would pay for GFWL if MS offered strong online games. Unfortunately, they don't offer much so charging for online play on the PC was hardly justified.

If MS ever charges for online play on the PC again I just hope they can justify it by offering strong exclusive games that require Live.

No they wouldn't. This is the PC space we're talking about where playing online has been free for over 15 years. Look at all the competition from Valve alone Counterstrike Source, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat. Even Call of Duty now requires Steam. How exactly are MS going to compete with that?

It doesn't matter whats out there. They just need to create killer apps to attract people. Xbox Live became a success in a world with plenty of free options out there.

MS tried to offer strong online games in Halo 2 and Shadowrun. Unfortunately, they don't seem to take the PC seriously and failed miserably. They continue to be in two minds about what to do in the PC space.

Halo 2 was strong... back in 2004. The PC port didn't come until mid 2007. By then Halo fans were already going ape shit with Halo 3 just around the corner and it wasn't for the PC.

You consider Shadowrun a strong online game? GTFO!

You're absolutely oblivious to this topic or you're playing dumb.

Your logic is all wrong. Valve didn't steal anything, developers went to Steam because the masses use Steam. Just recently MS decided to get GFW off the ground by adding a ton of games, deals of the week, the occasional daily deal, etc. As you can its creating a lot of buzz.

Steam gained customer because it's a good service. Everything MS are doing are short-term solutions to a long term problem. There's a lot more they need to do. The buzz generated so far is minimal at best.

How do you know its minimal? All MS has to do is keep adding games and keep put up deals. You are just being obnoxious and you have no idea what they'll be doing in the future.

Also, you must admit MS did something really smart over the years. They got developers to make GFW a requirement for several popular games. Some of those being popular titles on Steam. A brilliant way to make GFW relevant even for people who use other download services.

Actually, this has had a negative PR effect. Yes it forced gamers to use the service, but at a time when the service was very poor (it still is to be honest) which creates resentment for being forced to use the service. This was doubly so for Steam users as it added an extra layer of hassle to an otherwise simple and streamlined process if Steam was used alone.

PR? You mean the stupid crap people post on the interweb? That really killed the 360, huh?

You're just trying to put whatever negative spin you can on it.

P.S. Don't talk trash about ShadowRun! That game was(still is) great.

All gaming systems, consoles/PC, have thier perks... why fight over preferences? I like Coke and you like Pepsi, that's it, let's not fight over which toy we like best cause that's what they are. Is someone's preference in a toy important or is the relationship between you and your neighbor more important? Answer is obvious, but THE most important thing is your relationship with God almighty. God Bless you in Jesus's name.

I can communicate without talking... I can send a loved one money without actually sending money... and I can commit theft without the product disappearing, the point of theft is the point of theft not one of it's possible symptoms which is the product dissappearing. The thief wants to gain something without paying for it, that's the point of theft, the thief doesn't have to care or anybody else has to care if the product dissappears. The product dissappearing is just a possible symptom of theft. Gifts are sacrfices, in order to give a gift, it has to be a genuine sacrfice/gift, meaning a copy of the game isn't still in your PC. Piracy is theft and/or being a culprit of theft.
