So what I'm proposing is that Forza 4 steals the American audience for Simulator sales, and potentially sells over 5 million units total, excluding bundled and digital distribution sales. Strong Americas sales, modest EMEAA sales, and small Japan sales.

This could potentially hurt GT5/6 sales, but not by much because Americas has never been a strong region for GT sales.

Focusing on NA wont steal GT sales, GT will still sale on the PS while F sales on xbox. The brand loyalty is there and both will sale decent.

In Europe they can win sales or they can lose them, if they fight for them they can gain will eating away GTs share.  I just dont think it be worth it for them.

MS needs to attack Europe as if it WW3, win Europe and you win the world.

ANd for the love of god a massive NO to a kinetic/Forza monstrosity.

If MS attacked Europe more harshly (which they may do with the next X-Box), that would for sure put MS above Sony (assuming Nintendo is still on top next gen). Brand name alone will be enough to sell 360 over Sony in Americas, just like sony and Nintendo sell over MS in Japan by a huge margine. Imagine how big MS could be in the gaming industry next gen.

That said,  won't buy a successor MS console if they still charge you for online use

NA lacks the brand nationality bias for it to be like Japan is.  Europe is far from MS loving and that leaves NA.  Doubt they will be any bigger then now.  MS lacks the all around gaming porfolio to take Europe from Sony.

If MS and Sonys new hardware comes out at the same time PS will dominate xbox.

NA will never be as heavily brand dominated as Japan, but since the region sells about 5 times as many consoles, a smaller difference in sales ratio will still lead to a big difference in sales. Currently the 360 has a 10 million lead in Americas, but PS3 only has a 4 million lead in Japan despite the 5:3 vs 5:1 domestic selling ratio.

MS dominates UK, the largest seller of consoles in Europe, PS3 dominates Iberia, Other Europe, Middle East Africa and Asian. The other regions show roughly similar sales between 360 and PS3.

My point about EMEAA is that, if they developed a gaming portfolio more suited towards EMEAA gamers, and advertized more heavily in that region, it would improve 360 or future X-Box sales drastically. If Ms could somehow manage to push equal sales to PS3 or the future Sony unit in EMEAA, MS sales should be above Sony sales by a larger fraction then now. Thats the only point I was trying to make. By beefing up the Forza brand, that would be a good way to attract the EMEAA gamer better.

Next generation will likely be very different from this one. Did you honestly expect Nintendo to be the best selling console when they announced the Wii? Things change, and we simply do not know what the PS4, MS successor, and Wii successor will be like. Assuming similar circumstances to this generation, an alligned launched with the PS4 and X-Box successor could encourage higher PS4 sales, however I really doubt Sony will release a PS4 early enough to do that, as it would be hard to justify the upgrade since the P4 will likely not be too different structurally (graphics, processor, blu-ray).

MS will likely have an easier time grpwing sales then Sony, and MS is almost garenteed strong sales in the very large Americas region. As long as they can post strong EMEAA sales, which would be easier then Sony posting strong Americas sales, MS could really grow next gen.

That would be sad in my opinion, as I really dislike the Microsoft company, even though the 360 is sweet. Japanese quality, and methodology, is in my opinion, better.
