True, but this is also the case for all other major digital distribution services such as Virtual Console/WiiWare, PSN, XBLA, appStore, Zynga, etc. I agree that it sucks to lose the ability to resell games, but I wonder if your issue isn't with digital distribution in general than with Steam specifically.
