Well it is a sales site so people are going to talk about the numbers. Don't think you can take that out. Does it get annoying? Absolutely it does. Should it go away? Of course not.
I mean obviously this site does adjustments and every now and then some of those are help brought to light by the community. Now I will admit, the way the community presents it is less than spectacular. Usually it is brought around by personal bias backed up by no factual evidence whatsoever. As someone said earlier, "My game didn't sell more so obviously it is under tracked" or vice versa. But amidst all of those really really bad arguments about it, we do get a few good ones where new evidence is brought up that helps out the situation. Don't think we should take that away. Such as with the PS3 recently, I posted a lot in those threads and 90% of the arguments were terrible. But there were a few that did make the argument of some of the regions in countries in Europe and Asia that may not have sufficient enough data yet to really get the best numbers. Turns out, over time we got that data and were able to adjust properly (mainly thanks to Nintendo themselves providing it so Sony fans thank Nintendo).
So yes while I do get mad about people complaining about it, I only get mad when there reasons for doing it aren't for the right reasons. I mean I like discussing those kinds of things. Wouldn't still be here if I didn't. I just like when the discussions are good ones rather than being damage control. So I hope people continue discuss the numbers and go over multiple sources to make sure we have the most accurate numbers, but I also hope they do it in a respectful way to themselves and the site.
