I want a new installment too, but I'd rather see someone else than Sakurai work on it.
After all, he insulted competitive gamers, and any kind of balance that was in Melee, he made sure wan't present in Brawl.

I find Brawl more balanced for the average player, and I find I can use a wider range of characters without having to learn them. Removing the Melee 'tricks' (exploits) was good too. Competitive gamers are too small a market for Nintendo to cater to.

Agree. I loved what Sakurai did precisely because it pissed all over the competitive gamers. He should have spited them more by eliminating the ability to turn off certain items or stages: force 'em to play the way the game is meant to be played
Also why i really resented the Brawl Plus mod when that emerged. Usually i prefer when games allow you to play the way you want and not force you into a box, but that just shows you how much i hate the competitive Smash Bros scene

I said, usually it's not a good thing and i'm usually pro-options, but i'd prefer the competitors to be spited before i get options
It was always like that whenever i wanted to play with friends. It absolutely had to be no items, final destination preferred, no weird (i.e. fun) stages allowed.
My resentment could have to do with the fact that i always lost in such matchups, especially if they were 1-on-1, but that does not mean i'm bad at the game because that is not smash bros
