The one where they said 6 Million was made at a major conference in September 2009, before any reviews came out. Your link is from a gamingunion.net interview (which is definetely full of again PR/hype), it is not credible enough to say that is their expectation and ignore what is said at an investor meeting. I never said the game wasn't hyped, but you act like past titles haven't been hyped or marketed, FF9 had advertising with coca-cola, FF8 had the 9.9.9 slogan, FF7 had a $100 Million marketing campaign. That whole video you just showed me is full of PR and marketing hype. Its not really a matter of opinion, the fact stands shareholders were told the game was expected to sell 6 Million, the news was widely reported across credible gaming sites. Time to agree to disagree.

Did you ignore the whole post, gamingunion.net was a forum post, i linked you to the source of the interview, which was recorded.

thats not what i'm saying, you said that FF7 and FF10 were hyped more, when imo they've hyped FF13 more. okay FF10 might have been more hyped, but about the same as FF13 level i think, FF8 and 9 and 12, were no where near this level of hype. the Coca-cola ad was only for Japan. FF7 $100 million marketing campagain with Sony was because no one in Europe and few in the US were aware of FF, that dosent count as hype imo, because FF wasnt known in the west.

yeah shareholders were told to expect 6 mil fair enough. i'm talking about what SE wanted, okay they said 6 mil eventully, but do you really think that SE dosent want another success like FF7 again?? it ridiculous to think that people dont dream about exceeding their previous successes.

i'm not refuting that 6 mil is what they expected, but imo, and theres proof i used to show this, not to mention massive marketing, 5 years of development, etc. that before they decided on 6 mil, they began production with the aim to make FF13 bigger than FF7 and sell 10 mil copies.
