All of the games the OP pointed out are 3D platformers (if we consider Zelda's to be partially that, which I can't), but none are 2D. I just can remember Yoshi's Island and Mischief Makers to be 2D, and though there may have been a few more, that subgenre was not N64's strength.

Wii has lots of excellent 2D and 3D platformers and I think it has already beaten the N64 in that regard.

What Wii has still to be proven is in original and imaginative games as Wave Race 64, Pilot Wings 64, Blast Corps and so on.
