I'm curious, is your definition of a bomb - 1. not selling much OR 2. not selling as per expectations?
OT: great Wii hardware and software numbers. |
My definition of bomb means not being able to pay dev./marketing costs. Underperforming means not going to expectations.
In this case, GT5 slightly underperformed. I was hoping for a bit more on both the SW and HW side.
It looks like the Wii is waking up for the holiday season. I think the Wii will win the 2010 Japanese HW sales by a hair for the home console race.
As for 360, Tales of Vesperia is probably the best MS could have hoped for. That game, along with some other jRPGs brought the Xbox brand from irrelevancy to underground status in the country.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
