I actually helped a woman buy a PS3 today at my local Gamestop. I pissed the sales clerk off bad. He was trying to sell her a used 60GB PS3 for like 350 bucks. She wanted backwards compatability but I talked her into a new PS3 for 299.99. I could never work at Gamestop, that business is horrible.

Why did you do that?  If she wanted backwards compatibility, why do you jump in and tell her otherwise?  At this point a PS3 a PS2 (to play PS2 games) would cost more than a backwards compatible PS3, wouldn't it?  Or is it that you feel PS2 games are no longer worth the time?  To finish up what you are doing, if she wasn't interested in a Blu-Ray player, why not talk her into getting a 360 while you were at it?

She said her son still had a PS2. Why would you need a backwards compatible used over priced PS3 when you still own a perfectly good PS2? I also asked her about the 360 but she said that her son specifically told her ONLY a PS3.
