The CIA has been doing the US immoral dirty work for years, under both parties. Putting a top secret label on the tapes, making sure that the most that could happen would be to have a couple of congressmen watch them, would be reasonable. Destroying tapes is not.

It's not a matter of left or right, but of authoritarianism vs government by the people. I guess Albionius there trusts everyone with a badge. Rational people don't.

Clinton's real problem is that she's a 'Moral Democrat', which will legislate morality, and spend about as much as Bush, just in different programs. A 'think of the children' democrat, just like she was when his husband was president. She's not all that different from Bush in foreign policy.

We know the 4 guys claimed to have been named died within a week of the story being leaked by a CIA interrogator.  Of course it's speculation as is the torture claim.  It was a lot easier when we outsourced the job of interrogating (in that case really torturing) terrorists to Arab countries under Clinton but oh well.
