well nintendo has been doing the same with mario for decades and got away withit, if they can i can´t see why activision can´t do the same with CoD

The thing is that Mario spans many genres (2d and 3d platformer, RPG, Kart Racing, various sports, etc) while CoD is only an FPS.

Since the start of Super Mario Bros in 1985, there have been 8 2d Mario Platformers (SMB, Lost Levels, SMB3, SML, SML2, SMW, NSMB, NSMBWii), averaging out as 1 game every 3.125 years.

Since the first CoD came out in 2003 and there has been 8 CoD games, excluding the Zombie ones and rereleases (CoD, CoD 2, CoD 3,  CoD MW, CoD WaW, CoD MW2, CoD MW2 Mobilised and CoD BO) averaging out as one every 0.875 years.

To do the same with CoD, we would have to see the likes of 'CoD Kart' and 'Super CoD RPG'
