Different sets of traditions is the reason why. Black Friday is an American day, and Boxing Day is one of the Dominions of the British Empire.
Boxing Day is more or less the after-sales Christmas clearance Week.... While it is called "Boxing Day" it is something that is several days long, extending from the day after Christmas until New Years.
