Without bothering to add up all the sales, offhand I'd say that currently FPS games sell more than any other genre.

Interesting thing about the PS3 top 20 is that with the exception of Resistance Fall of Man, all FPS games on the list are from the CoD franchise.

Mainly I would mean if we take out COD would shooters really be that big?
