After spending almost 10 full hours in the game, and only doing about 7% of the A-Spec mode, I can rate GT5 a 9/10, yet I will only give my final rating to it, after fully unlocking everything, since the game gets broader as you go along the levels.
I have to say I'm very impressed with the karts, it completely blew my mind away when I did an One Make race on Monza, plus the Kart Special Events are pretty awesome as well.
The physics are amazing, playing with a DFGT is an experience unto itself, yet some of the FFB isn't quite right, especially if you take some tuned FF cars and have the cars go into a wheel spin at 1st gear. There should be some massive amount of vibration on the wheel, yet there isn't any on any of the FF cars that i've tried.
Also, comparing to previous GT's, both the licenses and the timed special events (such as the AMG one) are much more difficult to get a gold, as the times are pretty tight and you need to have some very good driving skills. Even with years of experience in racing sims, I found myself struggling a lot on the AMG series.
The only flaws I can point to the game are both the graphical inconsistencies (some tracks look amazing, others look bland, some tracks have amazing shadows, others have jagged shadows, the same for the cars) and Standard cars inconsistency as well (some are down right amazing, almost Premium quality-like, like the Mazda Furai, Veyron or F12007, and some have really, really bad quality, like the Hommel Berlinette R/S or the Renault Megane 2.0)
