This being the first Gran Turismo I've ever played (yup that's right - you just heard that,) I will say that I am very very happy with the game. I am in no way any good at sim racers and I was surprised to see myself loving every moment of GT5 while on the track AND online.
Now of course for a newcomer like me, the game can be quite hard to take in as there is a wide selection of options, tuning options for every vehicle, and so many different qualifications to get into certain races that it can become a little overwhelming.. but I like it!.
I've read a lot of GT vs Forza topics, and I enjoyed them, but in my opinion GT completely blows Forza out of the water. Aside from the weaker damage on the vehicles, everthing about GT5 is exactly what a sim racer should be.
Oh and I better be damn happy with GT5 considering I fell victim to EBgames damn trade 3 - get it free deal... But it was worth it :D
