Regarding games, maybe I should have said lack of major 3rd party support in Japan, not lack of major games, but the end result is the same, since 1st party by their very nature are always few with large gaps in between and cannot by themselves support a system. It really doesn't matter who if anyone is to blame for the 3rd party situation in Japan, the fact is that was the situation in a glaring way this year, and it obviously had its effect. Regardless of the Wii situation, PS3 sold considerably better than last year, and that was imo on the strength of the same 2 factors - steady stream of games Japanese people has an interest in that came out in Japan in 2010, and Torne.

Regarding peripherals, as far as I recall Wii actually didn't have any new ground breaking peripherals this year in Japan, while Torne imo is like Blueray, another serious incentive for people to get a PS3.

Regarding Sonic Colors I really don't know, sorry.

wikipedia says sonic colors release was Nov 18 2010....not sure if it was postponed tho, but if not it bombed hard
