"Chinatown Wars sucks because it isn't exactly like GTA: Vice City." "Dead Space Extraction sucks because it isn't exactly like the HD Dead Space games." "Hardcore games will sell, and we'll buy them, but only if they're great." These are just really pathetic excuses for skipping some good games. |
That is just bizarre - you include Chinatown Wars in the list when it isn't even on the Wii. Why not throw in a few HD / PSP games in there? (there are examples all around)
Seriously though, these games didn't sell well for a reason - either they don't have mass appeal (top-down cel-shaded GTA?), or the games simply weren't good. Honestly, MadWorld is the worst game I've played this gen. Not to say that the gaming audiences of all the consoles are the same (obviously not), but the reasons above can't be ignored.
On topic, I just can't see the system releasing 2011. The possibility is closing quickly, as there won't be enough time between announcement and release (which is necessary for third parties and such). Though the 3DS will be announced and subsequently released within a year, a new Nintendo (home) console will need more time, as its games should have a longer development cycle.
