Not bad for a Dead Franchise/Dead genre On a system where exclusives cant possibly outdo their predecessors.

I hear ya, but Sony really does need to up the marketing. I'm thinking they will just after launch, but that seems like a lackluster decision. They should be pushing this like Nintendo pushes the next Mario/Microsoft pushes the next Halo.

I still expect an enormous opening in EMEAA first week though.

Maybe they expect GT5 to be a slow burner

I mean I think SONY might amp up marketing in december so GT5 has a steady run to the end of the year

Probably, sounds real plausible actually. I forget this isn't a frontlaoder type franchise. Now that I think about it, I don't remember past GT launches having much more marketing than GT5.

Well in UK this is the lowest marketed GT game pre-launch....dunno about NA/JP

but in UK the clear problem is the sudden delay meant the slots SONY had pre-booked for GT5 commercials had to be abandoned and maybe SONY couldn't get new commercial airing slots

Still this is something Nintendo does....release a game with "meh" marketing...then keep marketing for months on end....thats one of the ways in which the "evergreen" sellers have come to be evergreen

If SONY's taking that approach with GT5...I'm all for it.
