Let's make this simple.
Person X wants to play let's say SMG2. He has no interest on WS/WSR. If there is no legacy wii available, he has to buy wii with 2 games he don't want.
Or he can buy a used wii, maybe without warranty. 99,5% of those used wii consoles come with at least wii sports.
