I just really don't get some decisions like this.  It's like Alan Wake being exclusive despite the much larger history on PS3 for survival horror and the fact Blood Siren and other titles should have ensured a decent install base interested in horror themed titles.  I'm absolutely sure Alan Wake had a chance - similar to Bayonetta - to actually sell more on PS3 than it did on 360.

I repeat - I just don't get some developers decisions regarding platform.

lol, uh every survival horror game has pretty much tanked on PS3 to this point (Siren 3 included, it's the worst selling game in the entire series).  Hell, about every survival horror game this gen has tanked period... except maybe the first Condemned on 360 and Fatal Frame IV on Wii (which got nerfed in the end by being JP only anyway).

I actually think Alan Wake could've done worse multiplatform even.  It wouldn't have had MGS backing then, in terms of funding, advertising/promotion or the dedicated 360 fanbase.

And I should say, I don't disagree with your premise (some genres do perform better on certain established userbases imo)... but you picked a pretty terrible example here. :/
