I kinda figured Jim Sterling was crazy, but a few days of playing it has only verified that. My only gripe is that the game's a little short, but that's applied to every single Sonic game ever
Also the writing. I don't like the new, more slapstick Eggman. Before he was only a little bumbling, but still filled with a degree of competence (comparing it to the very masterful Eggman portrayed in Adventure 2), but that concern has no bearing on the gameplay
