Why would it be more attractive?
By the time one format wins, standalone players will be significantly less expensive than the PS3. Right now it is more attractive because the PS3 is about the same price or cheaper than nearly all stand alone players. A year from now that won't be the case. The PS3 will probably be ranging from $350 - $450. Stand alone bluray players will be starting around $200. No contest.
Like I said, its a one way street. PS3 helps bluray, bluray does not help PS3.
It will affect the generation of consoles though, at least Sony and MS next-gen.
