Yeah Black Ops had everything we hoped for and it had a great posibility of selling a lot, but Activision made the mistake of releasing Goldeneye just a week prior, it added local multiplayer to that game, made it exclusive and place some advertisement behind it...
The result: very good sales for a core third party game that cut the possible sales of another core third party game of the exact same genre (Cod BO), just look at the sales of goldeneye, yes its not in the million of copies range, but it had a very strong first week (the same as Castlevania on 360 and PS3 combined) and way higher than MW and W@W.
Their its a audience for this kind of games, its just not big enough to support 2 good games of the same genre released too close to each other, that's why I think Sega did the right thing by delaying Conduit 2 and not throw it to be slaughter by Goldeneye or Cod BO.
