Well I went to try out Kinect (at Bic Camera in Nagoya) this past weekend and there were plenty of people checking out the Kinect. I wasn't there for that long, but 2 people tried out the Kinect demo before I did.
I even got this "clear file" for trying out the demo (from the MS Kinect people there to help).
