i know this is "Cool Story Bro" material , and probably some people know it already, but....

Lots of people around here have the wrong idea that "Americas" (thats the whole region not only US btw) , sells a lot because everyone is a huge gamer in the US and everyone buys millions of copies of every game that exists.

The fact is, everywhere outside of the "officially supported" countries (Japan, USA, UK) imports their games, most imports come from the US, thus counting them as sales in the "Americas" region , its also true for Consoles, its also the reason why tracking sales is a hard thing to do, you never know that this is actually an import or it isn't and you never know what is the "official" shops in every region , or the shops that import games, but my point is, the sales of Americas is the mass of every console that is imported in every other country , sure there is a lot of imports coming from UK or Japan, but the ones coming from US are about 5 times more, and thanks to 360 and Wii being region locked , all imports are coming from US now.

Tracking sales from all regions is an impossible job, unless the big companies decide to officially ship their products to those unsupported countries, we won't have this issue of not selling as much as "Americas"

You do realise US games and consoles don't even workin many foreign countries? UK/Aus/Japan all use PAL and differing power supplies. you can't import the consoles without having additional hardware at home to run them and the games require you to have the US console (at least for the Xbox). Besides which the US is not even the cheapest place to buy from, people tend to import from the UK or Asia depending on region.
