I didn't really notice the whole console war thing as much back then, some of my friends has N64 and some had a Playstation. We didn't care though and rarely discussed anything regarding them, we simply enjoyed the games both had to offer (I owned both, by the way). I think the primary reason why I didn't see much of the "war" is the fact that internet was still pretty much in its infancy as far as discussion boards and forums go and all gaming related things were reported mostly through magazines.
