If they have small japanese style living rooms, yes, they are very retarded because it wont work properly has reported by some users.

I don't know anybody with a lounge where Kinect wouldn't work. and I know all sorts of people from different walks of life.

Stop cherry picking. You didn't know about cases of kinect space requirement I linked you to some.

I also have a friend who just bought kinect and despite it is working, he had to change forniture on his living room for it to work.
