Well the wii isn't your traditional market leader is it, perhaps if you want to forget about 10 months of the year it is.
Last xmas is last xmas, this xmas (the here and now) will be different, and it'll get worse next xmas. People have shown the enthusiasm for Wii is drying up very fast, it'll have a knock on effect for christmas sales.

I'm sorry, but there's any other console, apart of the DS that sold more units than the Wii since 2010 begun?
This xmas, Wii sales will shut you up. Like every xmas that has gone, and every xmas that will come.
I think at this time and period, people should already accept the fact that the Wii sells the most. This discussion feels too much like 2007. That's like going gaga over nothing. Its old and boring conversation.
I'll let sales speak for myself.

No they won't, as I've always accepted it'll sell the most this xmas. It won't dominate, I have confidence in that, and the fact you can't see people losing intrest in Wii rapidly is sad .. all the signs are there. Come mid 2011, 360 and PS3 will be ahead of Wii for yearly sales, and it'll have yet a weaker xmas.
PS3 is going to ship 15 mil for the fiscal year (and it's been rising in recent years)
Wii is shipping 17.5 (about 5 less than previous??)
2.5 mill gap ..

We just have to wait for the numbers =)
How many price cuts, skus and different models and redesigns had the PS3 and xbox in order to achieve present sales? I have no idea. How many did the Wii get? one! New models or redesigns? NO.
The Wii could have sold way more with a price cut this year, but Nintendo doesn't need that. Save it for next year so 3DS doesn't affect it much, and one final price cut in 2012 so Wii 2 doesn't affect it much. It shall end at 110 M or so. A number that no other console this gen can achieve, with gap calculations, pricecuts, late entries to motion control or free porn.

Just moving to damage control now, and avoiding the topic we're talking about. I don't care if Wii wins overall, it's non debateable that it will, and isn't part of this discussion, yet you bring it up why?
We're talking about the here and now (or rather the going forward) and the Wii not being dominant anymore, Nintendo are going to be hard pushed to match this fiscal year next year. With a 5 mill drop off the back of a price cut .. doesn't look good.
