Why would any company be obliged to tell people here  - or on any website - the number of gadgets they sell? Notice that Sony never commented on the Move numbers (which are way too low here, or no longer comments on NPD numbers which seems to piss off a lot of people here). Believe it or not, a lot of the gaming industry does use our data so if either our estimates are way too low (which I don't believe they are) or sales have been a little slower than he hoped - he'd have good reason to try to discredit the figures we published.

Either way, he obviously feels obliged to make a comment on it or else he wouldn't have bothered.

And he felt obligated enough to say it in a jackass way, his feathers are ruffled, I wonder if its the stock thats readily available on shelves and they can't go "we under-shipped".  Thing is he's already sealed his fate, 1 he's tweeted VGC all over the net anyone that follows him will see it and check out the site, 2 if/when final numbers are dead on then he's just provided VGC with a huge credibility boost and hurt his own cause he's the one that was unprofessional.
