My question is why Greenberg felt compelled to twit about it?
Anyone daring to suggest sales below 500K *Shock Horror!* even if it's only for the first couple 'o days might peev them a bit, because they want to manage sales info and for the first announcement of sales to be in the millions. The merest hint that there's a sub-million sales number out in the wild could be perceived as negative press for Kinect (even though it's not), in which case maybe it needs a low key rebuff through something like Twitter. And rebuffing in a way that also dismisses or discredits the source of the offending data helps to marginalise the reported number.
